Flesh = WORLD (earth realm) For your "flesh" is made up of the same "substance" as this dimension/realm...the dust of the earth. When the word speaks of the "flesh" it is talking about a dimension. 

For the desires of the WORLD are against the SPIRIT, and the desires of the SPIRIT are against the WORLD, for these are opposed to each other

It is about spiritual dimensions/realms. Your physical flesh does not have a mind of its own to crave "desires." Your physical mouth does not crave alcohol, cursing or lust, your SOUL does. Your physical hands/flesh do not have the "desire" to steal, masturbate or bring abuse, your SOUL does. 

Your soul is in its own dimension/realm called the soul realm. Your soul does not have these desire's on its own accord either, these desires are there because your spirit is walking with, listening to, submitting to and playing with darkness in the spirit realm. 

Due to the ignorance of many "teachings" from people who do not understand spiritual things, many are being deceived into believing they think their own "thoughts", which are actually governed by one of two kingdoms. Your spirit man is either listening to the kingdom of darkness or born again and listening to, led by the Spirit of The Lord in the SPIRIT REALM. Your thoughts are not your thoughts, they are governed by one kingdom or the other. Why are your thoughts not God thoughts? Why are your ways not God's ways? The enemy whispers to your spirit and soul the things of this worldly dimension/realm to keep you day in and day out focused on the desires of this life that are perishing and only bring for spiritual and natural death. 

8For my thoughts(spiritual realm) are not your thoughts(natural/world realm), neither are your ways(natural/world realm) my ways(spiritual realm), saith the Lord. 

9For as the heavens(spiritual realm) are higher than the earth(natural/flesh realm), so are my ways(spiritual ways) higher than your ways(earthly ways), and my thoughts than your thoughts.

10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven(spirit realm into the natural), and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth(natural/flesh realm), and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:

11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.(His word comes forth from the spirit realm into the natural realm and manifests/brings forth/Creates that which He says it wiL.)

Stop seeking to learn, follow and "council" spiritual things from Apostles, Prophets, Pastors, Teachers, Leaders and every person online who thinks they understand spiritual things but does NOT SEE OR UNDERSTAND IN THE SPIRIT. There is a HIGHER reason why the Lord says "do NOT DESIRE to become a teacher and leader" Day and and day out all I see is people talking about spirits, demons, demonic possession, deliverance, christians cant have demons, "scripture says this" and really....truthfully....these people dont even have any idea what they are speaking about. They have given way to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons that teach people according to their natural intellect, nothing about that is the Spirit of God. They have made themselves liars before God whether intentionally or unintentionally is irrelevant because teaching out of a "good heart" is still a doctrine of demons and seducing spirits coming forth from their souls.

The Lost Soldier Mine It was in 1869, that Abner McKeever and his family were attacked by a large band of Apache warriors. The McKeever ranch was located at Gila Bend and a long distance away from the protection of Fort Lowell and Fort McDowell. At the end of the raid, the Apache made away with over 20 head of horses, 6 rifles, ammunition, clothes, food and sadly Belle McKeever as well. WHY WERE THE JAPANESE SO CRUEL IN WORLD WAR II? Before and during World War II, Japanese forces murdered millions of civilians and prisoners of war. Why? On Feb. 16, 1942, Japanese troops herded 23 Australian women into the surf from a beach on Bangka Island in the Dutch East Indies (present-day Indonesia). Supposedly the practice never fails to kill despite the fact that the victim is never physically harmed. The practice leaves no trace whatsoever on the condemned.
